Mumbai: Land owners across the state can now search, view and download a verified copy of their land record online, after the revenue department finished digitising files in the last of its 36 districts.
Each downloaded copy carries a QR code. Banks and courts can scan it to confirm the record matches the department's database, which officials say should cut down on forged documents in loan applications.
The department said help desks at tehsil offices will stay open for people who do not have internet access or need help correcting errors in their records.
Corrections requested online will be reviewed by a local officer within 15 working days, according to the new service charter.
